Having studied law and qualified as an advocate, Tinus felt that you shouldn't hold this against him, so he embarked on a business career. He worked (and still does) in international wholesale trade, and has a propensity for allowing hobbies to become all-comsuming affairs. This led him to sell up in 2000 and move to Europe to establish a world championship motocross racing team. He still remains involved in promoting youth racing talents worldwide. Music-wise, he had a previous gig in an online station called Scatterlings of Africa. He initiated and financed a couple of international collaboration recording projects.
