It all started for me because of my late father who was into trad jazz and swing. We Used to love the groove and the amazing sounds that those guys made. My cousin who was a great music collector got me into groups like Pink Floyd,Jethro Tull and other classic acts, must have been about 15 I reckon. Had already started to collect records, starting with Grand Funk at the tender age of 12. After my stint in the army, I landed a job with Musica, then still a family business. beginning my 30 year career in music retail. Managed quite a few stores but the highlight was working at CD Warehouse at the V&A Waterfront. Also worked with Benjy Mudie on a show on Radio 2000 for 2 years called Rock of Ages. With CD Warehouse as the sponsor. In 2017 I took early retirement at age 55. I soon realized I missed the interaction with customers and the sharing of music, so my YouTube channel Richard's Rock Rambles was born. The late Leon Economides introduced me to Rebel Rock Radio, Leon opened a world of bands and artists to me that I had never heard before. I call my show Richard's Rock Rambles so that all sorts of Rock can be played and discovered. Without music life would not be the same, for me.
